Chief Executive Officer and Director
Abinand Rangesh is the CEO and a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Prior to his appointment as CEO he was the CFO of the company since 2021. He has been with the Company since 2016 and has held roles in various divisions including sales, business development and strategy. Prior to joining Tecogen, he was the CTO of Lumisolair, a solar and wind powered off-grid energy company, COO of Peek You a software company and CEO of Lumi Ventures where he oversaw multiple startup investments for a high net worth investor. In addition, Dr. Rangesh has multiple design patents and has published multiple scientific papers in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Rangesh earned both his Ph.D. and engineering degree from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Robert A. Panora
Chief Operations Officer
Robert Panora has served as President of Tecogen since 2000. Mr. Panora had been General Manager of Tecogen’s Product Group since 1990 and Manager of Product Development, Engineering Manager, and Operations Manager of the Company since 1984. Over his 41-year tenure with Tecogen, he has been responsible for sales and marketing, engineering, service and manufacturing. He contributed to the development of our first product, the CM-60 cogeneration module, and was Program Manager for the cogeneration and chiller projects that followed. Mr. Panora has had considerable influence on many aspects of our business, from building the employee team, to conceptualizing product designs and authoring many of the original business documents, sales tools, and product literature pieces.
Mr. Panora holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University.
Chief Technology Officer
Joseph Gehret is our Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Gehret is responsible for leading technology development at Tecogen and defining the company’s research and development efforts. With an expansive depth and breadth of classic, as well as cutting edge technology, he has been integral in the development of all Tecogen products and technology for 30 years. He is the primary author on all of Tecogen’s major patents. In addition to leadership roles in all Tecogen technology development, Mr. Gehret has designed and developed the necessary hardware, as well as the software code, for all of Tecogen’s product lines.
Mr. Gehret holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer
Mr. Deschenes has led accounting and finance functions in high-technology manufacturing and consumer products and distribution companies for over 30 years, including as Division Chief Financial Officer at L3 Security Detection Systems, Inc. in 2017 and 2018, and as Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer at Implant Sciences Corporation from 2010 to 2017. Mr. Deschenes received a B.S. in Business Administration from Salem State University and is a Certified Management Accountant.
Vice President of Sales
Eastern Operations, has a territory that encompasses the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast U.S., as well as Europe. Jeffrey Glick’s primary responsibilities include marketing our cogeneration and chiller product lines, managing and training sales representatives, and managing all training-related activities for the engineering community. He also performs as the liaison to the natural gas industry in the Northeast. He has been with Tecogen for more than 20 years. Prior to working for Tecogen, Mr. Glick was a Thermal Design Engineer and Project Engineer for CE Lummus Heat Transfer Systems (Bloomfield, NJ), where he was responsible for design and installation of process fired heaters for the petrochemical industry.
Mr. Glick holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts and an M.S. from Manhattan College, both in Chemical Engineering.
Vice President of Sales
Western Operations, has a territory that focuses on California, but also includes 22 other U.S. states, Western Canada, Mexico, the Pacific and Asia. William Martini is responsible for marketing our cogeneration and chiller product lines. Mr. Martini represents Tecogen directly to our customers, including hospitals, schools and colleges, government building operators, and industrial facilities, which he has supported for more than 20 years. He performs detailed economic feasibility analyses for customers and assists in managing their installations and ongoing service needs. He works directly with consulting engineers, contractors, our local service offices, utilities, regulatory agencies and local permitting authorities. Mr. Martini supports our western distribution network, including more than 20 manufacturers’ representatives and their salespeople.
Mr. Martini holds an A.B. in Engineering Science from Dartmouth College.
Joseph E. Gehret
Vice President of Operations
Joseph E. Gehret came to Tecogen in 2009 as an Application Engineer working with our sales team on new customer projects. It quickly became apparent that Mr. Gehret’s technical knowledge and experience with managing complex projects made him the perfect individual to fill the role Field Operations Manager, Director of Field Operations, then Vice President of Operations. In this position, he manages our manufacturing, application, service, and installation teams coordinating extensively with the engineering department to improve system reliability and decrease operational costs.
Mr. Gehret graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Wentworth Institute of Technology with an B.S. in Construction Management.
Vice President of Business Development
Stephen Lafaille started at Tecogen in 2010 as a Product Development Engineer working to help bring Tecogen’s gas heat pump product-Ilios to life. The experience gained in assisting with the development of the Ilios product as well as overseeing its market roll out provided valuable experience. This was applied to Mr. Lafaille’s subsequent role of Product Manager where he acted as an interface between the engineering department and the outside world, increasing his understanding of the sales process and customer need. Leveraging his understanding of the market, business environment, and sales process, Mr. Lafaille moved into a business development role as Director of Business Development, and now Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Lafaille is responsible for developing strategic partnerships, establishing, and growing new markets, and strengthening Tecogen’s position in existing key market verticals.
Mr. Lafaille holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
