Tecogen regularly has permanent full-time Field Service Technician positions available at our growing service centers throughout the United States, most often in the Northeast and California. Our expert Field Service Technicians maintain and repair natural gas engine-driven cogeneration modules and chillers that were built at our facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Tecogen Field Service Technicians perform monthly and quarterly routine maintenance. They must be able to troubleshoot equipment and make all necessary repairs. This complex equipment requires technicians who are knowledgeable about large automotive engines and commercial/industrial air conditioning systems (including compressors and piping), and have a thorough understanding of electric and electronic subsystems such as controls and sensors. Our recently introduced inverter based cogeneration module requires that technicians understand emergency power systems and switchgear. Tecogen Field Service Technicians must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customer maintenance engineering staff as well as with Tecogen’s product engineers. Each technician must be a proficient PC user, comfortable with Microsoft Office applications, e-mail, and accurate data-entry. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
Field Service Technicians report to the Tecogen Area Supervisor and to the Field Operations Manager in Waltham, Mass. They are supplied with a company vehicle and tools. Tecogen Field Service Technicians receive a competitive salary and benefits package, based upon education and experience.
