Links to Organizations Offering Information About Incentives
- US Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) - Most states have energy incentive programs that help offset energy costs while promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. FEMP researches these programs on a state-by-state basis to help Federal agencies meet their energy management goals. This site compiles energy efficiency and renewable energy funds and demand response programs in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. FEMP defines energy efficiency and renewable energy programs and demand response/load management programs.
- Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) - DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility and federal incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Established in 1995 and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, DSIRE is an ongoing project of the N.C. Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council.
- U.S. Clean Heat & Power Association (USCHPA) - USCHPA’s mission is to create a regulatory, institutional and market environment that fosters the use of clean, efficient local energy generation, including but not limited to combined heat and power, recycled energy, bioenergy, and other generation sources that lead to a demonstrable reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions. For nearly a decade, the U.S. Clean Heat & Power Association (USCHPA) has provided superior advocacy, networking, education, and market information to companies in the business of clean, local energy generation.
- Northeast CHP Application Center (NAC) - NAC was established in October 2003 with a mission to provide CHP application assistance, technology information, and educational support in the seven Northeast states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. A critical objective of the Center is coordination across states within the region, across technologies, across upstream and downstream business sectors and end-use applications, and across nationwide DOE resources leading to the development of more favorable market conditions throughout the entire northeastern United States. The NAC serves as a focal point for communication among key stakeholders in the Northeast Region.
- Pacific Clean Energy Application Center (PCEAC) - The U.S. Department of Energy Pacific Clean Energy Application Center (PCEAC) is based at the Energy and Resources Group, University of California, Berkeley and at the Advanced Power & Energy Program, University of California at Irvine. It also involves close collaboration with the Industrial Assessment Centers at San Diego State University and San Francisco State University. PCEAC was created with funding from the US DOE to promote clean energy technology through the use of combined heat and power (CHP), waste heat recovery (WHR), and district energy (DE) in California, Hawaii, and Nevada. The Center attempts to educate prospective adopters of clean energy, foster clean energy technologies as viable technical and economic options in the three-state region, and to leverage existing and potential regional resources.
- World Alliance for Decentralized Energy (WADE) - WADE works to accelerate the worldwide development of high efficiency cogeneration, onsite power and decentralized renewable energy systems that deliver substantial economic and environmental benefits. In an effort to raise the profile of cogeneration as a climate change mitigation strategy in the 1997 UNFCCC climate change negotiations the International Cogeneration Alliance was founded. In 2002 the group changed its name to WADE and broadened its scope to include all manner of DE technologies.
- Mass Save - Mass Save offers financial incentives and technical assistance to help you purchase and install energy efficient equipment and systems, including lighting and controls, HVAC systems, motors, variable speed drives, and compressed air, as well as custom projects.
- Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) - Learn more about the energy-efficiency programs, rebates, financing and other resources that are helping Connecticut businesses thrive while saving energy and money. CL&P offers incentives and rebates for businesses updating to more energy efficient systems and to new construction project wishing to be energy efficient.
- Smart Start Buildings - New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program, for Existing Buildings and New Construction- One of the goals of the State of New Jersey is to enhance energy efficiency through on-site power generation with recovery and productive use of waste heat, and to reduce existing and new demands to the electric power grid by providing financial incentives for Combined Heat & Power (CHP) installations.
