Tecogen is an active and leading member of numerous industry associations that support clean CHP and energy efficiency:

  • Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) - The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is a source for information and networking in the dynamic fields of energy engineering and energy management, renewable and alternative energy, power generation, energy services, sustainability, and all related areas.


  • Energy Star - Energy Star is a energy conservation initiative sponsored by both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.

  • EPA CHP Partnership - The CHP Partnership is a voluntary program seeking to reduce the environmental impact of power generation by promoting the use of CHP. The Partnership works closely with energy users, the CHP industry, state and local governments, and other clean energy stakeholders to facilitate the development of new projects and to promote their environmental and economic benefits.

  • Energy Solutions Center (ESC) - The ESC is a technology commercialization and market development organization representing energy utilities, municipal energy authorities, and equipment manufacturers and vendors. The mission of the Center is to accelerate the acceptance of and deployment of new energy-efficient, gas-fueled technologies that enhance the operations and productivity of commercial and industrial energy users, and improves comfort and reliability for residential energy users.

  • Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) - NESEA is the nation's leading regional membership organization promoting sustainable energy solutions. For more than thirty-five years, NESEA has supported and inspired a growing network of sustainable energy and sustainable building professionals committed to responsible energy use. NESEA is committed to advancing three core elements: a multi-disciplinary network of professionals, sustainable energy solutions for the built environment, and proven results in the field. The Association operates primarily in the 10 Northeastern states, from Maine to Washington DC.

  • New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) - NYSERDA’s aim is to help New York meet its energy goals: reducing energy consumption, promoting the use of renewable energy sources, and protecting the environment. NYSERDA strives to facilitate change through the widespread development and use of innovative technologies to improve the State’s energy, economic, and environmental wellbeing. NYSERDA’s programs and services provide a vehicle for the State to work collaboratively with businesses, academia, industry, the federal government, environmental community, public interest groups, and energy market participants. Through these collaborations, NYSERDA seeks to develop a diversified energy supply portfolio, improve market mechanisms, and facilitate the introduction and adoption of advanced technologies that will help New Yorkers plan for and respond to uncertainties in the energy markets.

  • New Jersey Pay for Performance (P4P) - P4P is a comprehensive energy efficiency program that provides incentives towards whole-building energy improvements. Choose the component that best describes your building:
    • The Existing Buildings component is designed for commercial, industrial, and multifamily buildings with a peak demand in excess of 200 kW in any of the preceding twelve months. Save 15% or more on the energy consumption in your buildings with the help of our approved partners and receive incentives along the way.
    • The New Construction component is designed for new commercial, industrial, and multifamily buildings with 50,000 square feet or more of planned space, as well as buildings undergoing substantial renovation. Construct your building to achieve energy costs 15% below ASHRAE 90.1-2004 with the help of our approved partners and receive incentives.


  • Urban Green Council (UGC) - UGC is a not-for-profit environmental organization developing a green building training program called “G|PRO: Green Pro Building Skills” in conjunction with New York City’s building trades and contractors.   • U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) - USGBC is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. USGBC works toward its mission of market transformation through its LEED green building certification program, robust educational offerings, a nationwide network of chapters and affiliates, the annual Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, and advocacy in support of public policy that encourages and enables green buildings and communities.
