Tecogen is a leading manufacturer of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) products, including natural gas engine-driven cogeneration and air conditioning systems for commercial, large residential, and industrial use. Tecogen systems supply electric power or cooling, while thermal energy that usually is discarded from the engines is recovered, and put to use in customer facilities. The benefits to customers are a dramatic reduction in their energy costs, and greenhouse gas reductions of 50% or more. Tecogen has an installed base of more than 2000 units, supported by an established factory network of engineering, sales, and service personnel located across the United States.

The Company was founded by Dr. George N. Hatsopoulos and Dr. John N. Hatsopoulos, the co-founders of Thermo Electron Corporation, which is now Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE:TMO).
