Waltham, Mass. - June 1, 2010 - Tecogen today announced that the InVerde® 100 kW CHP module has been successfully evaluated and tested for European CE Mark compliance.
A worldwide third party testing agency, Intertek Testing Services, completed the Type Testing and review of the InVerde to the following EU Directives; Safety of Machinery 2006/42/EC, Low Voltage 2006/95/EC, and Electromagnetic Compatibility 89/336/EEC. All future InVerde shipments to Europe will now have CE Marking, along with a Declaration of Conformity (DoC). An InVerde 100 kW module has been successfully operating in Europe (Nasielsk, Poland) for over one year in a district heating plant under special approval. The CE Mark will now enable the product to be imported to EU countries without restriction or special approval of the design.
“We are especially interested in the EU market for the InVerde product”, explained Tecogen president Bob Panora. “At its inception, one of our major design objectives for this product was that it be equipped with a universal power interface. The built-in inverter provides this feature. In other words, it allows the standard US module to be utilized for international, 50 hertz customers with minimal changes to the software code. Moreover, the 100 kW power rating is retained, which is generally not the case with other engine-based machinery. Now that we have this approval, we are able to pursue the EU market aggressively”.
